- What are the advantages of laser hair removal?
Lasers are very precise and easily adjusted. Unlike electrolysis, lasers use a wide beam that can treat many hairs at once instead of one hair at a time. Consequently, large areas (e.g., legs, arms, backs, etc.) can be treated in a short amount of time, and results will last far longer than tweezing, waxing, shaving, or other temporary treatments. - How long will each treatment take?
Time for treatment depends on the areas being targeted. Facial areas (e.g., lip, chin, etc.) can be treated in 5-10 minutes, smaller body areas (e.g., underarms, bikini line, etc.) take about 15 minutes, and larger body areas (e.g., back, legs, arms, etc.) can take approximately 30 to 60 minutes. - Is it safe? Does it hurt?
Laser Hair Removal is very safe because the laser is turned on for only a fraction of a second, and the duration of each laser pulse is just long enough to destroy the hair follicle. A state of the art cooling device simultaneously cools the skin while the laser is in use, minimizing discomfort. The laser will partially or totally eliminate a percentage of the unwanted hair per treatment. Once these hair follicles are eliminated, they are permanently destroyed. However, due to lifestyle, hormonal stimulation, and genetics, the laser may not prevent new hair follicles from being stimulated in the future.
